Camtek CSI - Are you ready for GDPR

Regardless of Brexit, the new EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) becomes law in all member states, including the UK, on 25 May 2018. This invokes more harsher penalties for breaching data protection with fines of up to €20m. Also to be implemented is the Network and Information Security Directive (NISD) where companies need to demonstrate that they have protected themselves from cyber attack. We can help you by using our specialist checklists to audit your business and provide a report which will identify any shortfalls.

Cyber security incidents including hacking and data loss happen every day, and the risks are increasing.  Even more worrying is that people do not realise or understand that these incidents are the major cause of data breach and affect companies of all sizes. These threats need due consideration as part of a boards risk strategy.

The UK Government has reported that in 2014, 60% of small businesses experienced a cyber breach, with the average cost to them of between £65,000 and £115,000.
