01 — Overview

What it is,
and why it matters.

Cyber Essentials covers five technical controls: firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and security updates. Cyber Essentials Plus adds a hands-on technical audit.

Many businesses fail on small details such as unsupported software, missing updates or admin rights. We check everything before you apply, help you fix what is needed and support you through the certification assessment.

A good fit if…

  • A client or tender requires Cyber Essentials
  • You want a recognised baseline for your security
  • You are moving from Cyber Essentials to Plus
  • A previous attempt failed or felt overwhelming

06 — FAQs

Questions,
answered.

A UK government-backed scheme that certifies a business has five basic technical controls in place to protect against the most common online attacks.

Cyber Essentials is a verified self-assessment. Cyber Essentials Plus covers the same controls but includes hands-on testing of your systems by an assessor.

There is an official certification fee based on the size of your organisation, plus any work needed to get ready. We give you a clear breakdown after a short readiness check.

If your systems are in good shape, a few weeks. If there are gaps such as unsupported software, it depends on how quickly they can be fixed.

Certificates are issued by licensed certification bodies. We prepare you, fix the gaps and support you through their assessment.
